International Conference on Critical Migration Scholarship
NOVEMBER 1-2, 2021
The Masters in Migration Studies Program (MIMS), in conjunction with Jesuit universities, the Jesuit Migration Network, and Global community partners, will host an international virtual conference on November 1 and 2, 2021 at the University of San Francisco, California.
The conference aims to center and highlight the narratives of those most impacted by migration, including understanding the role of Jesuit organizations in supporting immigrant and refugee communities. Through keynote speakers, panel sessions, and roundtables, the conference aims to complicate our understandings of push and pull factors of migration, highlighting interventions utilizing human rights-based approaches and incorporating narratives that speak to the impact of migration on internally displaced communities.
The conference seeks to center the questions, "what is critical migration studies" and "how this field impacts both the scholarship and work with communities on the ground?"
